We can all agree that numerous factors determine whether someone finds you attractive or not, from the color of your hair and eyes to your taste in music. However, in today’s world, people are obsessed with technology, and apparently, your choice of smartphone also has a significant impact on your love life.

A conducted study by CompareMyMobile analyzed more than 50,000 dating apps “swipes and matches” in 15 major cities. The results show that Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods users were significantly more attractive, with a 76% chance of being swiped right.

Aside from the fact that people are overall thirstier for Apple users, the study also found that women care more about what brand of tech their match has than men. Additionally, the study shows that millennials care way more about what tech someone owns than what car they drive.

If there’s one thing that can be said with certainty, it’s that dating apps or online relationship and dating coaching like Flirtivate are becoming more and more popular and accepted, and that’s not changing anytime soon. Online dating has truly disrupted more traditional ways of meeting romantic partners. And, on top of that, norms and behaviors around cohabitation and marriage are also changing, and more people delay marriage or even choose to remain single.

Quick Guide To Becoming an Online Dating God

No matter if you are on Tinder, Bumble or MeetMe, dating apps work very similarly. It’s all about first impressions because people have no choice but to judge a book by its covers and the limited information one provides in their bio.

While we can all sit here and fool ourselves by saying that physical appearance is not the crucial factor on any dating app, it’s better if we accept that as it is and learn to become online dating gods and goddesses.

Unsurprisingly, your pictures are everything when it comes to dating apps. The comforting fact is that if you have an iPhone, then you automatically have a 76% chance of getting matched. But why not make it a 100?

High-Quality Pictures

For you to become an online dating god, you need to find out how to take better pictures with your iPhone, which includes lighting, contrast, exposure, angles, and much more. Appearance is everything, so you must avoid at all costs any blurry, poorly cropped, and highly edited photos and heavily filtered photos.

While it’s totally okay to hide a pimple or to or pose at a certain angle that flatters your body, but if you change your whole body and face structure, that’s something completely different. The internet is already full of heavily edited pictures and catfishes, you certainly don’t want to contribute to that.

A survey found that 84% of people on a dating app called “Plenty of Fish” want a more honest dating experience on the site. Plenty of Fish decided to vet and remove images that are too heavily filtered, and more and more dating apps are hopping on this wagon, understandably so.

Let Your Personality Shine Through Screen

Although you have a chance to write a few lines and display who you really are, besides pictures, the main focus of these dating apps are pictures, so why not showcase your personality and awesomeness through them?

With that said, you should carefully choose three to six photos that represent who you are as a person and your everyday lifestyle.

If you are a type of person that highly cherishes family, and if that’s one of the personal traits you want in a partner, make sure to post a picture with your siblings, grandparents, mom, or dad. A person with a similar interest will surely love that and potentially slide into your dm’s to try and win over your heart.

On the other hand, if you are a more adventurous type of person who loves fast rides, swimming with sharks, and partying, make sure to post a picture of some of your favorite adventures. It’s a great conversation starter.

At last, you can post pretty much whatever you want, but avoid posting selfies, as research shows that selfies get 8% fewer swipes. Additionally, smiling in pictures is attractive for both genders and will make you look more inviting and genuine. Now, go ahead and conquer the online dating world.
