Some of the benefits of upgrading to an iPad include having a more interactive, immersive experience. If you’re still in the market for a note-taking device, it can be tough to pick which type of device is best. That’s why today we’re comparing two reasonable choices: an iPad and a laptop.

Many students are turning to tablets for note-taking, with the iPad being helpful because there are many accessories.  It’s also light and easy to carry around. The only downside is that not all apps are compatible with Apple Pencil. Although laptops are typically bulkier, heavier, and don’t come with a stylus holder, they’re still the best option when it comes to typing notes.

This is because they have a longer battery life, handle more productivity tasks, and have a better keyboard. So which one should you choose? Well, take a look at the comparison to help you make up your mind.

iPad vs. Laptop: Which One Should You Choose?

The iPad is a good option for note-taking due to the versatility it provides. Laptops are also acceptable, but you might want to consider what devices offer more flexibility for your needs. There are pros and cons with both note-taking devices, so it’s worth considering. iPads are better because they provide outstanding performance at a lower price.

Laptops have proven to be the primary typewriter for many writers. But even with a computer, writers can still benefit from a tablet’s features. For example, they’re great for taking quick notes from classes or office meetings.

Get the iPad

Quick note-taking: This is perfect if you need to take quick notes and need a notebook-like experience during meetings.

Flexibility and Portability: iPads are portable and lightweight, allowing you to take them anywhere without worrying about a backpack and use them without taking up a lot of space. They are also compatible with the new Magic Keyboard & Apple Pencil, perfect for quick trips.

Apple Pencil compatibility: The iPad is compatible with the Apple Pencil, which means the native stylus can be used to write on its touchscreen display. Writing can be done just as it would be on paper without any special software or apps needed.

All-Day Battery Life: iPads are designed with longevity in mind. They’re able to last the day without needing to recharge, but it’s essential to be careful with your workload so that you can preserve battery life for longer.

Handwritten Notes: You can organize your notes & take them with you on the go with apps like notability, good messages, and others.

Get a laptop

Focused on productivity:iPads are not as powerful as laptops due to the number of functions you can perform with a laptop. If you need power for all your professional applications, then get a computer.

Accurate Typing Experience: Typing on a laptop is great for these tasks. If you need a full-size keyboard with physical keys that are easy to press, the computer is likely best suited for writing long documents, essays, novels, etc.

Larger Screen Size: Screen sizes are a significant factor when determining the best laptop for productivity. A larger screen allows for less finger travel when typing, which can help keep your task progressing and enable you to remain productive throughout the day.
